Enormous Fernando Benally Multi-Stone Inlay Sterling Silver ring available for sale. We believe this ring is from his "Medicine Mask" collection. The corn plant on the ring represents nourishment and the sun a new day.
Fernando has been producing jewelry for twenty years. He is a member of the Navajo tribe. See below excerpt from his website on how he got his start in the jewelry making business:
"After graduating high school Fernando’s uncle Ernest Benally who is a well-respected jeweler asked him to help prepare his jewelry for a selling trip to Gallup and Zuni, NM. From this experience Fernando began his journey into the “Native American Jewelry Art World.” Soon after his family offered Fernando a 3 year jewelry apprenticeship and he began his training with skills such as buffing jewelry, cutting stones, stamping and soldering silver. Fernando’s aunt and uncle Chester Benally and Rita Benally-Ybarra who are well accomplished artisans also assisted to further develop his skills in inlay and silversmithing. Fernando’s talent had become more than apparent after finishing his apprenticeship and would later become a life path. Fernando respects his families love for the craft."

The ring is stamped with the intricate signature used by Fernando Benally. The ring also has a metal purity stamp "STERLING". It does test well for Sterling, or 925, Silver.
The ring is just under 5/8 inches tall at it's tallest and is a tapered band design to the back. See pictures for details. It weighs approximately 15 grams. The band size is approximately 16 and 1/8.
We believe the inlay in this piece contains Turquoise (light blue), Lapis Lazuli (dark blue), Spiny Oyster (orangish), and Red Coral (reddish).
